The Swatch Womens Pro Ladies Hour on Day 2

The Swatch Women’s Pro

it may have something to do with the unseasonably warm water bubble sits right off the coast, or to break the record El Nino will set in. Then again, it could be related to the amount of water displaced into the atmosphere Silvana Lima early this morning.

Remember when women had to play second fiddle to men - when they will be sent in the bitch, blown-out condition, or closeouts to ebb and tide tranquility? Fortunately, the days seem behind us. The women now have their own wait time in a number of tour stops, and at events overlap they tend to get the same treatment - or at least more similar than they are accustomed to. Girls scored best of the lot yesterday, enjoyed a surprising gust Offshores afternoon, and then kick things off today, wrapping round 1 and powering through the 2nd round in the morning clean condition.

After the French surfer Johanne Defay angry Tyler Wright in the hot end of lap 1, Silvana Lima start repechage against Alessa Quizon and immediately busy clinic wearing a forehand high performance. Unfortunately for Brazil, Quizon replied back with the back of his own clinic, and finally get a trip through to round 3. And from there, things only got better.

Round 2 is often known as round loser, but with the talent tour today was no heats boring - especially when history is being made every hour or so. Girls scored best of the lot yesterday, enjoying the afternoon surprise gust offshores.Wildcard Bethany Hamilton and Caroline Marks injury replacement either surfing again today, and while they do not end up ahead, they look both historic and inspiring. Hamilton needs no introduction - it might surfer's most famous living - but this week he raised his street-credibility even more by being the only "adaptive" athletes to have ever surfed show world tour (adaptive becomes a relative term, because he was surfing more either with one hand than most of us do with two). He was also one of the few women to ever compete at the elite level, and the fact that she gave birth less than three months ago must have some sort of competitive note.

On the other side of the spectrum, the US Open champion Caroline Marks Jr Pro is a replacement for the still injured Steph Gilmore - and at 13 is the youngest athlete (male or female) have been surfing hot WT. Which is quite impressive when Caroline is in the water squaring off against power house tour Tyler Wright, but became more so when he walked with you on the beach, and you realize that he is just a little bit of pre-teen (pre-teens with a bottom-up combo about 10 years ahead of his time).

In the end, all the title contenders eventually advanced - even though everyone from the bottom of Sally Fitzgibbons has a lot of ground to make up in the candidate Courtney Conlogue and Carissa Moore. But the race will have to wait until tomorrow. Round 2 ends and WSL has decided to give the woman
